In the summer I tried my hand at climbing Mont Ventoux on my touring bike. "The Bald Mountain" is a legendary stage in Tour de France folklore, and with a 28km ascent at 9% incline it takes no prisoners. Almost killed me. But riding past all the Tour graffiti, seeing Tim Simpson's shrine, the sick views, and the butt clenchingly fine descent made it a day to remember in the provencale sunshine.
