This was a photo I took at Lyons train station last summer during my cycle up the backbone of France. I saw these two figures walking up the ramp away from me and, scrambling for my camera, I just managed to get this shot before they disappeared out of sight and onto the platform.
It's kinda blurry, but on the left is a mother with her touring bike loaded up to the max, followed by her - what can't have been more than - 8 year old daughter with an equally loaded mini little touring bike in hot pursuit. I almost melted in a puddle of emotional teariness. It made my whole holiday.

If H G Wells once said:
"When I see a grown man on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race"..
Then for my part I declare:
"When I see a six year old on a touring bike, I want to spend the whole day hugging trees, making daisy chains, and piling up mounds of nuts for my cuddly little squirrel friends."
