Building Bridges

The Chinese have just opened the longest bridge in the world. It's 26.4 miles long, so you could run an entire marathon along it. It's called the Qingdao Haiwan bridge and is a mile longer than the freakin English Channel. It took 10,000 workers four years to build, cost £1.42bn, carries a six lane highway and takes half an hour off the journey time across the bay. Also it... i'm sorry what. Half an hour. £1.5billion. That's one episode of Neighbours and a cheese toastie. Time is money after all.

Still it's pretty cool.
