Madness At The Tour

Pretty late on this one, but just in case you missed it check out this ridiculous incident which happened at the beginning of the week in the Tour de France. A french television car with no right to be anywhere near the riders at the time, swerves to miss a tree and takes out two of the frontrunners before powering off. New definition of a drive-by.

The dutch rider Johnny Hoogerland came off worst. Check for him far left getting hurled into a barbed wire fence at 62km/h and coming to a dead halt. He somehow survived, got back on a replacement bike to finish the stage at a snail's pace, and then had 30 stitches administered to his derriere.

Poor guy understandably couldn't hold back his emotions at the end.
