Love Part IV

I saw Norwegian Wood last night. It was heavy.

The dialogue from one scene stood out especially. Not because it's on the dvd cover or anything. Because it's just handsdown rad.

Two of the main characters Midori and Watanabe are talking:

Midori:

Let's say i tell you i want to eat strawberry shortcake. And you drop everything and run out and buy it for me. And you come back out of breath and give me the strawberry shortcake. And i say, "i don't want it anymore" and i throw it out the window. 

That's what i'm looking for.

Watanabe:

I'm not sure that has anything to do with love.

Midori:

It does. I want the man to say, "You're right Midori, it's my fault. I have all the intelligence and sensitivity of a donkey. To apologize, i'll get you something else. What would you like? Chocolate mousse? Cheesecake?"

Watanabe:

Then what?

Midori:

Then i'll love him.

Can't say i wouldn't have administered the strawberry shortcake straight2face manoeuvre, but still I think it's brilliant.
